Sep 1 forecast

Ethereum is trading only slightly above $2,440 with hours remaining, so a price at or above the threshold at 5 p.m. EDT is narrowly favored.

Ethereum enters the final hours near $2,450, leaving little protection against an ordinary intraday swing. Trading has already crossed below $2,440, while repeated rejection above $2,500 and large exchange deposits add selling pressure. Strong ETF inflows and recent institutional buying provide support. The small starting advantage makes an above-threshold finish narrowly favored, though a sharp late move could decide the outcome.

Points to YES

Ethereum currently has a small but important cushion above the settlement threshold.
On September 1, settlement-basis Ethereum was $2,450.8826 against a $2,439.99 floor strike.
Recent spot Ethereum ETF inflows provide underlying institutional demand.
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded about $824.42 million of net inflows in the week ending August 28, their highest weekly total of 2026.

Points to NO

Intraday volatility has already been large enough to carry Ethereum below the threshold.
On September 1, Ethereum traded between $2,438.19 and $2,488.52 on the cited price page.
Repeated selling above $2,500 limits the room for a protective late-session rally.
On September 1, Ethereum had encountered selling pressure during multiple attempts to break above $2,500 to $2,550.
Large transfers to exchanges create a credible source of near-term sell-side pressure.
By September 1, a large holder had deposited 70,739 ETH worth roughly $174 million across multiple exchanges over two days.
