Late projections of $18-24M make Primetime's $22M opening weekend about as likely as not.

Primetime's opening weekend box office is about as likely as not to reach $22M. The film's projections surged from $10-15M a week ago to $18-24M in the final days before release, driven by strong critical reception (94-95% on Rotten Tomatoes) and A24's recent blockbuster momentum. However, downside risk remains from stiff competition with other wide openers, a controversial R rating, and public criticism from Chris Hansen. The balance of these opposing forces leaves the outcome essentially a coin flip, with late-breaking presales and Friday previews likely to tip the scales.
